Panhellenic Council Meeting October 28, 2013 Kansas State Student Union Big 12 Room 7:00 pm CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order. READING OF NPC CREED We, as Undergraduate Members of women’s fraternities, stand for good scholarship, for guarding of good health, for maintenance of fine standards, and for serving, to the best of our ability, our college community. Cooperation for furthering fraternity life, in harmony with its best possibilities is the ideal that shall guide our fraternity activities. We, as Fraternity Women, stand for service through the development of character inspired by the close contact and deep friendship of individual fraternity and Panhellenic life. The opportunity for wide and wise human service, through mutual respect and helpfulness, is the tenet by which we strive to live. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES Minutes were approved. Recruitment: Ellen Bergkamp, Nicole Wasserman, Liz Lawless (ellberg@ksu.edu) (nicwasse@ksu.edu) (melaw@ksu.edu) • Transition Materials and Code of Ethics Changes • Working with chapters participating in COB Advisor’s Report: Brianna Hayes (briannah@ksu.edu) • The Greek Scholarship Advancement Committee is a committee of both IFC and PHC members that are strategically assembled team of academically talented K-state Greek scholars who represent various programs, majors, ethnicity, hometowns, and areas of interest on campus. Committee members provide feedback and insight into how you can continue to strive academically, and what you can do if you are a chapter who struggling academically. Additionally, committee members will create study techniques, be a scholarship liaison to chapters, and do scholarship programming. To be on this committee you must have a 3.0 GPA. If you are interested in a being on this committee GSAC Applications go out TODAY and will be due in the Greek Affairs office on Nov. 22nd by 4:30pm. All of the delegates should have received a copy and it is also online. Applicants will be chosen by Nov. 27th via Email. First informational meeting will be the week of Dec. 2nd based on schedules. This is a great and new opportunity so be sure to take advantage of it. • Greek Week Applications are due on this Friday for the Committee and the Committee Chair. If you are applying for committee chair you must have 2.5 GPA. • COB Monatorum (Tri-Sigma) • Chapter need to email total for the semester as well as total for the expected Fall semester going into Spring. Old Business - none New Business • PHC Code of Ethics • Q&A with slated Board of Directors candidates Nominations from the floor - Mary Harness - Kappa Alpha Theta - COB and Retention For the Good of the Order Alpha Chi Omega: Had a great initiation, dad’s weekend is this weekend Alpha Delta Pi: Initiation week Alpha Xi Delta: McAlisters philanthropy event from 5-9 with proceeds benefiting Autism Speaks Chi Omega: Had a great homecoming and had a bonfire with partners this past Sunday, This Sunday will slate for new positions Delta Delta Delta: Had initiation 2 weeks ago, dads weekend this weekend Gamma Phi Beta: Initiation is next week, Helping with Farmhouses philanthropy 11/3, 5-8 pm, like corn dogs - $3 benefiting coaches vs. cancers Gamma Rho Lambda: Love is Love week was great, t-shirts are due today Kappa Alpha Theta: 7 new women from COB, Service Day - wrote letters to Fort Riley soldiers, Job sales this week Kappa Delta: Just had slate and selected the slate for the 2013-14 executive council, international girls day with girl scouts on Nov. 10th 2-4pm, Dads day this Saturday Kappa Kappa Gamma: Chapter will be going down to Wichita State to finish the installment of the new Kappa chapter. We will do their initiation and transition of officers, Nov. 11th and 12th Kappa will be completing our philanthropy Kappaccino. There will be drawings for gift cards to coffee shops as well, dads weekend is this weekend Pi Beta Phi: Campus Kisses next Thurs, (Nov. 7th 7-9pm) ALL are welcome!, initiated 55 new members Sigma Kappa: walk to end alzheimer’s we raised $3,500 and Mudbowl we raised over $7,000!
