Number of ring spinning positions Number of OE-rotor spinning positions Other spinning machines Raw material 1 and its percentage Raw material 2 and its percentage Raw material 3 and its percentage Average number of articles per year Average number of articles processed at the same time? 2 Framework of USTERIZED® Granting the USTERIZED® certificate is based on an “audit of the spinning mill” processes following a framework with 4 dimensions: Customer orientation Quality management system Quality management process Continuous improvement USTERIZED® 3 (12) THE STANDARD FROM FIBER TO FABRIC 3 Conditions for granting the brand USTERIZED® for one year The spinning mill is able to produce yarn of consistent quality. The spinning mill provides yarn quality profiles / yarn standards for his customers or is able to produce yarn according to given yarn quality profiles/requirements. The spinning mill compares its yarn values with the USTER® STATISTICS. The spinning mill is able to show an established Quality Management system. A claim management/handling process is installed and can be presented for 3 recent customer claims. A sampling plan is clearly followed in the processes of the mill. The spinning mill has the testing systems listed under paragraph 5.2 installed and operated correctly. The spinning mill has standard environmental conditions in the laboratory as listed under paragraph 5.3. The testing systems are maintained regularly once per year (Service contract with Uster Technologies). 4 (12) USTERIZED® THE STANDARD FROM FIBER TO FABRIC 4 Customer orientation 4.1 Customer orientation and claims Do you know your customers? What are their yarn quality requirements? What kind of yarn quality specifications do you provide to your customers? What kind of quality claims did the mill had in the past 3 years? Please list the three most important claims. How the mill did handled the 3 most important quality claims mentioned above? USTERIZED® 5 (12) THE STANDARD FROM FIBER TO FABRIC What is the relationship to the customers? Who is in contact with the customers to deal with the quality of the yarn? 4.2 Yarn quality profiles The spinning mill should add 3 examples of yarn quality profiles / yarn standards to this questionnaire, which are given to customers or which are requested by the spinning mill’s customers. 6 (12) USTERIZED® THE STANDARD FROM FIBER TO FABRIC 5 Quality management system 5.1 Quality management in the mill Who is the quality manager of the mill? How is the quality management organized? 5.2 Quality measuring systems The customer uses the following quality measuring systems: Model type Year of instal- Last service lation Bundle fiber testing system USTER® HVI * Single fiber testing system USTER® AFIS Evenness Tester USTER® TESTER USTER® TESTER Hairiness Module Strength Tester USTER® TENSORAPID Strength Tester USTER® TENSOJET USTER® CLASSIMAT 5, USTER® CLASSIMAT QUANTUM (Online or Offline) USTER® QUANTUM with foreign fiber detection ** USTER® QUANTUM EXPERT USTER® QUANTUM clearers compared to the total of winding positions in percent ** USTERIZED® % 7 (12) THE STANDARD FROM FIBER TO FABRIC * In the area of fiber testing the customer can either have the USTER® HVI or the USTER® AFIS system. In the area of yarn strength testing the customer can either use the USTER® TENSORAPID or the USTER® TENSOJET. ** In the area of winding 50% of the winding positions must be equipped with USTER® QUANTUM CLEARERS with foreign fiber detection. In the case of synthetic yarn spinners or long-staple spinners, neither fiber testing instruments, nor foreign fiber detection on the yarn clearers are required. 5.3 Conditions in the laboratory As all of the quality values measured with textile testing instruments depend on the environmental conditions, it is important that the environmental conditions remain constant. The standard atmospheres for conditioning and testing according to ISO 139:2005 is 20°C +/- 2° and 65% +/- 4% relative humidity. Temperature in the laboratory °C Rel. humidity in the laboratory % r.H. 5.4 Service Agreements For which instruments listed under paragraph 5.2 does the spinning mill have a service contract with Uster Technologies? If so, what contract numbers? Laboratory systems Clearer systems 5.5 Sampling plan The customer is able to show the sampling plan implemented in the spinning mill starting from raw material to finished product. The customer can fill in the sampling plan attached (EXCEL) or add a copy of the existing sampling plan to this questionnaire. 8 (12) USTERIZED® THE STANDARD FROM FIBER TO FABRIC 5.6 Test reports The spinning mill has to send complete test reports of the 5 most common articles with this questionnaire. The test reports must include the most important quality parameters as well as the USTER® STATISTICS percentile values (only for the instruments where applicable). Please send the following test reports: USTER® TESTER Quality Report (including CVm, IPI, H) USTER® TENSORAPID/USTER® TENSOJET (including strength and elongation) USTER® QUANTUM EXPERT Classification report or print out of USTER® QUANTUM control unit 6 Quality management process Yarn quality is improving worldwide. How do you keep pace with this development? Which performance indicators do you use for the quality management system? Are objectives defined? Are there long-term objectives? USTERIZED® 9 (12) THE STANDARD FROM FIBER TO FABRIC How are you monitoring the quality consistency in your mill? 7 Continuous improvement Is there a continuous improvement process in place in respect of raw material selection, handling, the spinning processes, and education/training? What is your approach in the various fields? Are there any specific, long-term goals defined regarding the quality? Please comment. How are the test results of the laboratory transferred to the production process and vice versa? 10 (12) USTERIZED® THE STANDARD FROM FIBER TO FABRIC Are there quality or technical limits defined on the clearer in order to eliminate outliers / exceptions? Are the ejected bobbins tested in the laboratory systematically and periodically? Is a closed-loop system installed?
