Waterloo Sights & Sounds steering group meeting Monday 22nd December 2014 5.30pm Present: Jenny O’Neill, Peter Gazey, Peter Booth, Louise Hatch, Rose Ades, Gillian Melling, Veronica Ledwith Apologies: Previous minutes: Approved There was much discussion about the web site and that it needs updating on a regular basis Peter (Gazey) mentioned that half of the films he has made are on the Coin Street website and half on the Sights & Sounds web pages and that really they should be only on the latter. Louise said she would speak with IT about this and rectify. The Morley Exhibition footage, together with all other footage produced for the ‘legacy’ film of the project by Peter and Rose is still needing to be edited. Peter emphasised that an action for this had been given at the Coin Street November board meeting. This needs to be actioned /financed and uploaded onto the website. Gillian has edited the oral histories from the November 14 event and needs new Coin Street password to upload The group looked at the draft bid and project content and sequence including the development of previous activities and workshops: Rose and Peter said they were prepared to work with adults only in the production of the ‘Waterloo Wishes’ films. Rose would like to continue to work with Gillian in recording the Oral Histories, but considers that interviews should generally be undertaken independently of training/mentoring/skills sharing. Rose suggested that Coin Street/ the Steering Group increase their own, and others, capacity to deliver the audio elements of the bid. Gillian said that as it is a community project / bid so it will involve some inter-generational interaction and sharing skills Peter said blogs need to be updated regularly on the website. This is in part due to a ‘fallow’ period having no funding for 10 months. Louise has recently blogged about the Coming Home to SE11 film Jenny said her daughter Hannah who lives on the Peabody in Stamford Street could help us to engage residents with the project Rose suggested having actual prizes for Photography and Film Developing Creative Writing and i movie Film projects, with Notre Dame and Nautical School Gillian said her son could help mentor with i movie filming The Radio Program was very successful in the last project….perhaps this could be re developed. There are several local young people who might be interested in developing an inter-generational sound piece….Gillian to look into this.
