POSITION I.T. INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEER Location MainPower New Zealand Ltd’s Head Office, Rangiora Reports to Corporate Services Manager Principal Objective To ensure all facets of the MainPower infrastructure function in a secure, stable and efficient manner. Position Responsibilities 1. To evaluate and advise on available technologies that may benefit MainPower. 2. To provide best practice I.T. security for MainPower. 3. To support and administer all MainPower servers and application delivery points. 4. To support all end user business software and related hardware. 5. To procure hardware, software and support services. 6. To support and administer the MainPower core network services. 7. To design and implement infrastructure initiatives. 8. To manage assets including hardware and software. 9. To co-ordinate infrastructure requirements with all areas of the business. 10. To support and administer peripheral devices such as printers, copiers, faxes, smart phones and tablets. 11. To manage infrastructure maintenance functions such as backups, antivirus protection and security. 12. To produce and maintain documentation as required. Employee Responsibilities 1. Work safely so that the safety of self, other employees, contractors and the public is maintained . 5. Be aware of health & safety hazards and environmental aspects within his or her scope of work and how they are managed to minimise risk to people, property and the environment. 6. Where, appropriate, use the personal protective equipment and/or safety equipment provided and ensure it is adequately maintained. 7. Report discomfort, pain and/or injury so that factors present in the workplace that are contributing to it can be addressed to prevent future harm. 8. Report all incidents, defects, hazards and/or improvement suggestions to management on an ENF 008 IDHI Report Form in a timely manner. 9. In the event of a prolonged absence from duties, take an active role in the company’s treatment and rehabilitation plan, to ensure an ‘early and sustainable return to work’. 10. To Support continuous improvement of our business activities by communicating suggestions or highlighting non-conformance to management on an ENF 008 IDHI Report Form in a timely manner. Sound knowledge of computer systems, software application, communication and network technologies and information security. 2. Sound knowledge of Microsoft products; 3. Relevant experience in computer system administration. 4. Communication skills 5. Knowledge of industry best practices.
