POSITION
COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR
Location
MainPower New Zealand Ltd’s Head Office, Rangiora
Reports to
Communications Manager
Principal Objectives
To assist the Communications Manager with the development and implementation of MainPower’s
external communication initiatives to its stakeholders and audiences.
To proactively work on internal communications to ensure a positive workplace culture.
To perform a variety of specialised and administrative functions.
Position
Responsibilities
1. Establish and maintain community relationships while developing effective communications for
internal and external stakeholders.
2. Assist with formulating and executing marketing campaigns and strategies.
3. Copy writing and content curation for a variety of mediums including assistance with proof
reading, presentations and speech writing as required.
4. Liaise closely with relevant suppliers including graphic designers, advertisers and printers to
produce consistent and professional material.
5. Assist with media planning and buying.
6. Organise and oversee the creation of marketing collateral and brand identity.
7. Manage the visual presentation and content of the MainPower website including the regular
review and updating of images, graphics and written materials.
8. Provide administrative support for MainPower’s sponsorship programme.
9. Monitor effectiveness of MainPower’s online presence using analytics software.
10. Events and adhoc marketing and administrative tasks.
11. Manage all marketing collateral, promotional material and signage.
12. Assist with the administration of market research requirements.
13. Assist with public relations requirements including managing media contacts, identifying media
opportunities and local community liaison.
14. Monitor and evaluate media coverage.
15. Provide co-ordination and support for MainPower’s in-school education programme.
16. Event management support for both internal and external events.
17. Promote a positive public image for the MainPower brand.
18. Any other duties as may be required from time to time.

and how they are managed to minimise risk to people, property and the environment.
6.
Where, appropriate, use the personal protective equipment and/or safety equipment provided and
ensure it is adequately maintained.
7.
Report discomfort, pain and/or injury so that factors present in the workplace that are contributing
to it can be addressed to prevent future harm.
8.
Report all incidents, defects, hazards and/or improvement suggestions to management on an ENF
008 IDHI Report Form in a timely manner.
9.
In the event of a prolonged absence from duties, take an active role in the company’s treatment
and rehabilitation plan, to ensure an ‘early and sustainable return to work’.
10. To Support continuous improvement of our business activities by communicating suggestions or
highlighting non-conformance to management on an ENF 008 IDHI Report Form in a timely
manner.

Clause
1.
Tertiary qualification in communications, journalism or marketing with demonstrated experience (12 years’ experience in a marketing or communications role).
2.
Design skills and experience with Adobe suite of products (InDesign)
3.
Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
4.
Excellent organisational, communication, interpersonal and reporting skills.
5.
Strong attention to detail.
6.
Customer focused.
7.
High level of self motivation.
8.
Must be able to work outside of normal work hours/weekends for certain projects/events where
required.
