The new range comes with HVR® (High Vibration Resistant), making Exide Technologies the first battery manufacturer to bring the much-anticipated technology to the aftermarket. The new range is comprised of Expert HVR®, Professional Power and Professional. Both Expert HVR® and Professional Power are maintenance free, and each of the three products is customised to meet a specific customer profile. Expert HVR®, the most powerful option, now comes with new HVR® technology that absorbs vibrations and makes the battery last longer. Exide Technologies is an original equipment supplier to a number of major brands, including Iveco, MAN, Renault Trucks and Scania. Its partners, and almost all other truck manufacturers, have been developing AdBlue-equipped trucks to meet European legislation on reducing emissions. To make space for the AdBlue tank, batteries have been moved to the end of the chassis, where they are now exposed to increased vibrations. Spurred by mounting pressure to protect batteries in their new location, Exide Technologies was vying to be first to the commercial vehicle aftermarket with a vibration control system. To make this happen, it had to undertake an intensive research and development initiative combining its aftermarket and original-equipment researchers. “Our researchers worked at an unprecedented pace to be first to the market with vibration resistant technology. We are introducing it in a fraction of the time you’d expect for such a major accomplishment,” said Magnus Ohlsson, VP aftermarket sales and marketing, Exide Technologies. “Our new HVR® technology also creates a major advantage for our resellers, who can offer it to new customers seeking out the most efficient and technically advanced batteries available.” Exide Technologies’ HVR® battery lasts longer by insulating the core components from the effects of the end-of-chassis position. The batteries are housed in a reinforced container, and are designed to both absorb vibrations and lock components in place. Exide HVR® is the most powerful product in Exide Technologies’ new commercial vehicle range. For AdBlue and non-AdBlue trucks, Exide HVR® is designed to last longer and perform better than any other battery. The new range sees Exide Technologies cut its number of product tiers from four to three, in a move designed to simplify its portfolio and make more features available to everyone. The leading battery manufacturer believes that its new range will change expectations in the commercial vehicle aftermarket, and that more buyers will expect manufacturers to offer maintenance-free batteries. The full range will continue to be available across Exide Technologies’ six major European brands: Exide, Tudor, Centra, Fulmen, Deta and Sonnak. Ohlsson believes the new range is not just helping customers and resellers, but also helping the environment. “Our new advancements help ensure that performance is not affected, and therefore everyone remains united around making the world greener. Emissions have been reduced by AdBlue, and relocated batteries will perform better than ever.” ### About Exide Technologies EXIDE Technologies, with operations in more than 80 countries, is one of the world's largest producers and recyclers of lead-acid batteries.
