The successful candidates will be expected to provide academic leadership, teach at both undergraduate and postgraduate students, organize and guide research programs, and undertake further research in their areas of specialization. They will also be expected to participate in School and College activities such as curriculum development among other administrative duties. SENIOR LECTURER, SCHOOL OF LAW, NAIROBI CAMPUS-1 POST AC/8/388/11– (R&T) Applicants must be holders of a PhD degree in Law from a recognized university. They should have at least five (5) years teaching experience at both undergraduate and post graduate degree levels and must have supervised at least three (3) Masters Students to completion. They must have experience in research as evidenced by publications in refereed journals. In addition, they should have at least four (4) publications in refereed journals or two (2) publications in refereed journals and two (2) chapters in scholarly books since last promotion. The successful candidates will be expected to teach and supervise at both undergraduate and postgraduate students and undertake research in their areas of specialization LECTURER, SCHOOL OF LAW (MOMBASA&PARKLANDS CAMPUSES) – 5 POSTSAC/8/389/11- (CHSS) Applicants must be holders of a PhD degree in Law from a recognized university. Those who possess a Masters degree in relevant field and have at least three (3) years teaching experience at University level and have registered for a PhD degree in Law will also be considered. In both cases, they should have research experience, with at least two (2) publications in refereed journals or two chapters in scholarly books since last promotion. They should show evidence of continuing research activity. The successful candidates will be expected to teach at both undergraduate and postgraduate students and undertake further research in their areas of specialization. 1 TUTORIAL FELLOW (ENTOMOLOGY& PEST CONTROL), DEPARTMENT OF PLANT SCIENCE & CROP PROTECTION – 1 POST -– AC/8/390/11-(CAVS) Applicants must be holders of a Masters degree from a recognized university in the following disciplines: - Crop Protection, Entomology and Pest Management. They should show evidence of having registered for a PhD degree with research focus on Entomology and Pest Management. The successful candidates will be expected to assist in teaching undergraduate students in Financial Economics in addition to core areas (Theory & Quantitative) of Economics. SENIOR ACCOUNTANT I – FINANCE DEPARTMENT (4 POSTS) - AC/8/394/11(R&T) Applicants must be qualified Accountants with CPA (K), who are members of ICPAK in good standing. Candidates must also be in possession of a Bachelors degree in Accounting, Management or Finance. Candidates who possess Masters Degree in Management/Finance will have an added advantage. They must have gained at least seven (7) years relevant experience at a senior level in a large organization. Candidates are expected to have Information Technology skills and be proficient in Computerized Accounting. 2 The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and implementation of sound accounting systems. The candidates will be expected to provide financial, accounting or audit reports in the areas under his/her jurisdiction. He/she will be responsible for interpretation of financial policies and will be expected to carry out research and training in Financial Management as well as developing Accounting staff. This is a senior position and to succeed one must have the ability to supervise, excellent communication and interpretation skills. The successful candidates will be deployed in any of the eleven (11) operating strategic management units (SMUs) within the Students Welfare Authority. Duties include ensuring effective and efficient processing of accommodation issues within the Halls of residence. The position requires an officer who can work in a challenging environment and also work at odd hours. TECHNOLOGIST GRADE ABC, FIELD STATION-AD/8/400/11- (1 POST) - (CAVS) Applicants should be holders of a KCSE C with credits in relevant subjects and an Ordinary Diploma in Animal Production or its equivalent and a Certificate in Artificial Insemination (AI) from a recognized institution. They must be computer literate. They must have at least three (3) years working experience in any of the following areas: Beef and Dairy Production with working knowledge of diseases and pests; Livestock management with a focus on safe use of pesticides; Practical knowledge of managing a breeding, beef and dairy herd Knowledge of zero grazing production systems. The successful candidates will be expected to assist both undergraduate and postgraduate students in their laboratory practicals among other duties. ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT GRADE AB, FINANCE DEPARTMENT (10 POSTS) AD/8/401/11-(R&T) Applicants should possess CPA III with a minimum Grade of C+ in KCSE with credit C in Mathematics and English. In addition they should be computer literate with three (3) years experience as Accounts Clerk grade IV or equivalent qualification. Candidates with Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Management or Finance will have an added advantage. Those with CPA II and also have worked for at least five (5) years experience at grade IV will also be considered. DRIVER GRADE A, DIRECTOR’S OFFICE, STUDENTS’ WELFARE AUTHORITY1 POST –AD/8/402/11- (SWA) Applicants should be holders of at least KCSE level of education or equivalent and a clean valid driving license classes ABCE and PSV, a certificate in First Aid. They must have at least five (5) years satisfactory previous driving experience as a Driver Grade IV or equivalent , have a clean record of service, have good public relations and be able to work outside working hours.
