FEATURES EDITOR APPLICATION FORM Deadline: 5pm - Sunday 3rd July A Younger Theatre is looking for a new Features Editor, to commission, organise and sub-edit all interviews and features on the site. Key responsibilities: Writing features for AYT. Generating features ideas and devising a publication schedule. Commissioning and scheduling AYT's team of Young Arts Journalists to conduct interviews, attend press launches, research and write features. Responding to pitches from AYT writers and external contacts via email. Basic sub-editing of draft articles and providing feedback to writers. Uploading content and pictures using WordPress. Working closely with the rest of the Editorial Team to fulfil AYT's aims. Desired skills: Experience as an arts writer or editor. A flexible, efficient and organised approach. An understanding of A Younger Theatre's aims and audience. Strong journalistic judgement to ensure that the features are rigorous, informed and of interest to AYT readers. AYT seeks to primarily report on the changing face of theatre and the arts from a young persons perspective. AYT is solely run and managed by young people for young people. Please note: This is an unpaid opportunity as AYT and all staff are volunteers with no funding given to support the site. This opportunity is ideal for anyone under the age of 26 due to the nature of AYT and its missions. The hours required are flexible depending on individual workload, but the position would suit someone currently working part-time. This is a remote job requiring extensive online communication and applicants from all locations will be considered; however, most interviews and meetings tend to take place in London, and therefore if not resident, an ability to travel to London is beneficial. Unfortunately travel expenses cannot be covered by AYT.
