This document is intended for Southwest Power Pool Market Participants and provides information such
as timing, communication, and outage dates in preparation of the Integrated Marketplace Markets GoLive.

Market Participant Go-Live Checklist
This document was designed to assist MPs in confirming functionality and/or data validation after
the February Extended Maintenance Window (February 22, 2014) and prior to Go-Live. Tasks are
applicable based on participant type, and the tasks are broken down into several categories
including: User Interfaces, Day-Ahead/Real Time Markets, Settlements, Credit, and Notifications.
This checklist is designed to serve as a participant aid, and is NOT to be submitted back to SPP.
Any issues discovered while confirming the checklist may be addressed via the Request
Management System (RMS).
DIRECTIONS:
1. Start by selecting the checkbox for which market participant type applies to you. Please
check all that apply.
2. Select all of the asset types that you own (if applicable). Please check all that apply.
3. The 'Applicable' column will automatically populate an ‘x’ next all tasks that are applicable
for you to complete based on your participant type and assets owned.
4. Please keep this checklist for your own reference.
Example: A Market Virtual Participant will check the appropriate box in the Checklist tab, and
‘Verify Access to SPP Marketplace Portal’ will be marked as Applicable.

January 31, 2014 – Parallel Operations Ends
February 5-21, 2014 – Extended Maintenance Window
February 22, 2014 – Bids/Offer Window Opens for 3/1/14 Market Start
March 1, 2014 – Day 1 of Integrated Marketplace
March 2, 2014 – Meter Data Submission Begins
March 8, 2014 – First Initial Settlement Statement Posted
Go-Live is a transition, not a point-in-time. There are roughly 6 transition points referenced
from the first Operating Day (OD):
OD-30




Dual Scheduling (began Dec 16)
RMS becomes a system of record (currently in production)
Systems deployed and tested
Reserve Zone studies posted daily (currently in production)
OD-14 to OD-2



Market systems are deemed in production for bids and offers input from OD on (including
any data that rolls)
RUC process for longer lead units begins
COP True up process continues until final IDT last week of February;
 Final IDT is scheduled February 25, 9:30-11:30 CPT
Markets Test Data vs. Production Level Data



Market offer data will NOT be purged from the Markets systems prior to 3/1/14.
o This includes all existing offer data submitted since the June 2013 Market Trials start,
even MP data that was seeded by SPP for testing purposes.
All Markets offer data that exists in the Markets Systems on 3/1/14 can be settled on.
Market Participant test offer data MAY become financially binding if preventative measures
aren’t taken before 2/22/14.
MP Required Action for Market Trials Test Data

To avoid any test data becoming financially binding, please update all offer and parameter
data related to:
o DA Resource Offers
o RTBM Resource Offers
o Mitigated Offers

Update these data items prior to 2/22 to ensure you have good, production-ready data for GoLive.
An acknowledgement request will be distributed via RMS to ensure all Market Participants
are aware of this risk and perform any necessary mitigation.

Integrated Marketplace Network, Generation, SCADA, and Historians (PI/EADS)
Applications become production
Transition to new Reserve Sharing Group
Transition IDT
Start Following Integrated Marketplace Set-points
OD+2 to OD+30



Back office Integrated Marketplace systems become production (Settlements, Credit, …)
Current BAs have EIS systems available and ready to revert. This includes systems,
processes and staff
Daylight Savings Time change
OD+30 onward


SPP retires legacy EIS systems
Existing BAs and MPs may retire systems used to maintain reversion period

Communications
General Inf ormation and Inquiries
SPP will distribute information and general announcements related to the Market Participants through
email. An optional Message 911 service will be utilized for emergency notifications.
Issue Reporting
Any issues that are discovered should be reported via RMS. SPP staff will investigate the reported issue
and respond with a resolution. Market Participant Customer Relations representatives are available to
assist via phone or email.
