The 1st WAGS Midsummer Classic July 1st Regarded as one of the finest golf courses in Surrey, like its sister West Hill, Worplesdon has since 1907 provided a fine and test of golfing skill with heather and fir trees abounding. The picture above is the signature hole, the 10th, it is a par 3 with a three tiered postage stamp green. I have found a six iron to be the club, a wild slash, one bounce off the water and up onto the lower tier. Dense foliage to the right, more dense foliage and a road to the left and dark dark, still, eerily still, water ahead it is a nice hole. SI 18 and 122 yards off the yellows this is one where there is no hiding place. The 4th tee. The first par three on the course and with it being uphill, heather to the right and trees both sides a good strong whack is required to land the ball on the two tier tiny green (in full view of the club house). At 163 yards off the yellows (SI 17) more club is required than you might think but beware, there's trouble at the back of the green! theTrophy Fresh Ground Coffee & Bacon Rolls on arrival. 18 hole threeballs from the 1st and 5th tees simultaneously: 9am Huge three course classic golf lunch including Legendary treacle tart with cream served by nice Surrey Ladies with pearl necklaces Relaxed foursomes over 14 holes 2.20 onwards. Afternoon tea featuring Cucumber/Egg & Cress Sandwiches.
