ACADEMIC PROJECTS:

“Analysis of ChIP-Seq replicates for the similarity search and downstream analysis”,
an academic project being carried out under Dr. David R Westhead at the University of
Leeds, UK. The main idea of the project is to compare different ChIP-Seq data sets
from GEO and aligning their peaks for similarity search using various tools. Involves
computer programming skills like python, R and is been carried out on LINUX
platform.

“Design of Microarray Probes for POTYVIRUSES” – Carried out at the Indian
Institute of Horticultural Research (IIHR), Bangalore from Jan – April 2011. The
project mainly dealt with data mining for the potential Potyvirus affected plants from
NCBI. A data base for the same was tabulated to test for the virus using a Micro arrayer in the lab.
ACHIEVEMENTS:

Have participated in a hands-on training on “Protein Expression, Purification and
Characterization” conducted by Merck Specialties Pvt. Ltd.

Have been a part of the Organizing Committee of the “NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON
MEDICAL BIOTECHNOLOGY AND CLINICAL RESEARCH” held in Bangalore.

Participated in UGC sponsored “eBiotech” workshop on “Molecular detection of a
gene(wet lab) and post genomic studies with help of Bioinformatics tools(dry lab)
held at Maharani Lakshmi Ammanni college, Bangalore.

Have completed “Proficiency Course in Industrial Biotechnology”
GENOHELIX BIOLABS, a group of Jain Group of Institutions, Bangalore.

Secured 467th rank at junior level in NATIONAL LEVEL BIOTECHNOLOGY TALENT
SEARCH EXAM – 2010 organized by Biotech helpline foundation, Jaipur.

