Aloha will provide NCTU staff and students with special bus services to Chiayi and Kaohsiung
on Fridays and Sundays. Friday: 3 buses from Hsinchu to Kaohsiung and 2 buses from
Hsinchu to Chiayi. Sunday: 1 bus from Kaohsiung to Hsinchu and 1 bus from Chiayi to
Hsinchu.

If the buses are not at full capacity then they will go from NCTU to Hsinchu Station to
pick up additional passengers before continuing to Chiayi or Kaohsiung.
If the special service to Hsinchu is not at capacity, the bus will pick up additional
passengers at local stations before continuing on to NCTU bus stop.
III. If the number of bookings exceeds the capacity of the special service, Aloha will notify extra
passengers by phone or SMS to use our company's regular services. Please visit the Aloha
website for the timetable.

When an online booking has been made, our staff will send the service seat number, waiting
time and venue by "SMS" within 2 days.
VI. Payment Method: Payment in advance is not necessary for the NCTU special service. To use
your booked seat, please prepare the exact change and pay the staff when you board.
VII. Please see Table 1 for the address and telephone number of the Chiayi and Kaohsiung services.
VIII. Please see Table 2 and Table 3 below for waiting time, stopping points, ticket prices and
estimated time of arrival.
IX. ALOHA also operates daily regular services at the Hsinchu Station to Panchiao, Chiayi and
Kaohsiung.

Title: Aloha "NCTU Express" Booking Information

ALOHA has informed the NCTU that in line with company policy, all online bookings are to
be handled through http://www.aloha168.com.tw/main1.htm. As the company is currently in
the process of developing its ticketing system, it does not have any plans or the budget to
include the NCTU special service into the booking system. The following compromise has
therefore been offered:
1. When making a booking online, "Hsinchu --- Kaohsiung" passengers should set their
"Ticket Route" as "Taipei --- Kaohsiung". "Hsinchu --- Chiayi" passengers should set
their "Ticket Route" as "Taipei --- Chiayi".
2. For the "Ticket Service", select the departure time closest to the desired time. For example,
if you wish to take the 16:45 "Hsinchu to Kaohsiung" NCTU special service, select the
"Taipei to Kaohsiung" service where the departure time from Taipei is closest to 16:45.
3. Select NCTU as the "Pick-up Point" or "Drop-off Point".
4. NCTU staff, students and alumni may indicate that they are staff, student (please include
student ID) or alumni in the Remarks field to receive preferential booking.
5. Once Aloha receives the booking information they will contact the person by phone to
re-confirm their booking and the NCTU bus service they wish to use.
The Division has informed Aloha about the inconvenience of the system but their response was
that no changes are planned to the booking system in the short-term due to budget constraints
and company policy. Changes will only be made if the booking system is modified in the
future.
III. The Division checked with the Hsinchu Station personnel and they are willing to accept
telephone bookings for the NCTU special service. We recommend taking advantage of this
