A. Typhoon Summary (Information source: Central Weather Bureau)
Typhoon Nanmadol was centered about at 140 km away from the south southeastern
of Eruanbi on August 28, 2011 at 11:00 with Grade 7 wind storm, 180 km in radius,
Grade 10 storm with 50 km in radius, speed of 10 km/hr, moving toward north. At
present its center is located at Bashi Channel and moving continuously toward north,
the stormy weather is gradually close to Hernchun Peninsula which will be a coming
threat to Taitung, Hualien, Pingtung, Kaoshsiung, Tainan, Chiayi and Nantou.

2. The shipping and air services of Taitung, Lanyu and Green Island are
suspended. 6 visitors in Green Island and 50 persons in Lanyu stay
voluntarily without concern of board and lodging
G. Status on Disaster Reaction Center Operation
At 10:00 of the 28th, President Ma hosted the 3rd working meeting and made
instruction to each department and commission to strengthen the monitoring of
roads and bridges and prepare cooperative measures for regulated flood
discharge of reservoirs.
In addition, continuously persuade people in highly
risky and sensitive area of vulnerable tendency to cooperate with preventative
evacuation as well as the preparation for the sheltering areas. As to deficit
budget of water control, incapability of delivering sand and gravel to external,
exporting produces mentioned by Hualien County Mayor Mr. Fu, Tainan City
Mayor Mr. Lai and deputy mayor of Taitung County Mr. Chang, the central
government was appealed to support for review and evaluation of river control
and regulation, control the timing of flood discharge, military force
prearrangement and increase number of equipment and generally prepared in
advance and difficulties on 2012 budget arrangement managed by these
counties.
