Wael Borhan Biography
BORN:
10/9/1961 in Cairo, Egypt.
GRADUATE:
As an architectural engineer from Ain Shams University in 1985
FAMILY:
Wael is married to Hala Abdelkhalek, a Business and Economics
AUC graduate with MBA and High Graduate Diploma in Econometrics.
Hala is a Partner in a consulting company, Cord Corporate Empowerment
Partners and has acquired different certifications in Organizational
Development as well as Strategy Deployment techniques from the USA.
God blessed this couple with a beautiful angel Muhammad Hubuallah.
Wael’s father is Dr. Ahmad Borhan Ismail is chairman of EIPICO
Pharmaceutical, one of the prominent pharmaceutical companies through
out the MENA region.
HOBBIES:
He is a voracious reader of the international history and follow
passionately the major international changes on both levels political and
socioeconomics.
He is infatuated with nature and safari as a quest for revealing the mystery
of Sea and Land. He is very proud of the African roots of Egypt and seeing
that, he has dedicated some of his time annually for the last 10 years to
wander into the plains and hills of Africa.
PUBLIC SERVICES:
Being a civil activist Wael believes that GOD blessed
him with his generosity and he had to pay his dues then by investing all his
resources for Egypt. he has a substantial network of motivated and patriotic
segments from think tanks to consultants to technical professionals. Being in
this inspiring milieu he pursued several initiatives to create vehicles that
contribute to the civil society renaissance
BLDNA FOUNDATION:
He is the founder and chair of this foundation which its
main focus and responsibility is increasing awareness and to supply the civil
society with distinguish civic leaders. It also aspires to revive the civil
society role in Egypt.
MISR ELKHEIR:
He is the general secretary of this foundation which aims to
raise an endowment fund of a 5 billion Egyptian pounds to support health,
education, research and social support where donors keep the essential sum
and dedicate its profits to the cause they like to support in order to maintain
sustainable development.

He is former board member in the Egyptian Junior
Business association, EJB, and other business associations as the Egyptian
Business Association, EBA and British Egyptian Business Association,
BEBA .

1-2 Misr for Agricultural Development Co., specialized in food products
With a strong Export brand “Bravo”.
1-3 BBA FOOD HOUSE, In Wael’s pursue to embark on a strong
Enterprise portfolio he bought this major food business company
Representing many international and
Loca food brands, Sbarro, Wessaya, and Cantina Laredo
1-4 NILOTICA HOLDING: In 2006, Wael established this
Enterprise to be the holding company for all the mentioned
Family owned enterprises
2- CORPORATE GOVERNANCE:
As a certified board director wael is an independent director
on these boards:
2-1: NAMAA Olympic for Real Estate Development and one of
Group companies.
2-2: TEAM a joint venture between Majed Alfuttaim
Group and Namaa investing in 3 Carrefour –City Center in Cairo
2-3: ARDIC for Real Estate residential Development under the brand
Of ZEZENIA.
2-4: Corde Corporate Empowerment Partners for Business and
Financial Consultancy.
SELF DEVOLPMENT:
In pursue to excel as MASTER REFRAMER; Wael had to go through the
following training courses and retreats:
1-EXECTIVE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM 2002 / 2003:
Funded by the USAID, A 3 days retreat every month for one
year in various Management aspects.
2- LOGIC EXECTIVE PROGRAM 2003/2004:
A 2 days retreat in completion of the previous course.
3- CORPORATE GOVERNANCE 2006/2007:
An IFC and OECD certified 24 courses in 4 modules.
4- CO- ACTIVE COACHING 2008/2009:
A five CTI certified courses in 6 months.
5- CO – ACTIVE LEADERSHIP 2008/2009:
A four retreats, one week each in Spain certified by CTI.
