How to Enter Final Exams into eSembler Gradebook
Background: Middle School Final Exams should be 10% of the student’s 4 th quarter grade. The final exam is not a
separate grade as it is in high school courses and, therefore, will not appear as an exam grade on the student’s report card.
The recommended method for recording Final Exams for all middle school courses is to create a “Final
Exam” category worth 10% of the quarter grade and enter the final exam assignment(s) into the “Final
Exam” category.
Teachers can have multiple activities that are included in the final exam grade calculation. Example: A
teacher may use a district exam plus their own teacher exam. If so, they would create two final exam
assignments as indicated in the text box below and name one of the exams District Exam and another exam
Teacher Exam. Of course, the activities can be named whatever the teacher chooses.
The text box below gives more detailed information for creating the category and assignment:

How do I find the students’ district final exam scores?
The students’ district exam grades should be retrieved from the Data Warehouse site at (http://test.collier.k12.fl.us).
Teachers should make sure that they use the scaled score (Scale Pct) when entering exam grades into the gradebook.
For detailed information on how to retrieve the grades from Data Warehouse, contact Kendrick Knight at
KnightKe@collier.k12.fl.us and ask him to send you a copy of his PowerPoint.
This document is also available by going to the eSembler login page and clicking on the link under “HOW DO I DO THAT”
then scrolling down to the teacher section and clicking on the link “How to Enter Grades for Middle School Courses”.
