Richard Borrows is a full time consultant Nephrologist at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, and has a particular clinical and research interest in renal transplantation. Current lines of research include the genetic determinants of allograft outcome, the role of fibrotic mediators in transplantation and inflammatory disease, CMV as it applies to transplantation, the evaluation of nutrition in transplanted patients, the development of risk engines to predict allograft failure, and enhancing the evidence base by means of systematic review and meta analysis. He currently supervises three research fellows. At other times he is kept busy by his wife and two young children.
