Development Programme for the Manufacturing Sector in Rural Areas
The programme is included in the Single Programming Document for the objective 2, which
co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund.
Objective of the programme
Supporting, development and promotion of the manufacturing sector through grants for the
expansion and modernization of existing or and the creation of new viable small-medium
enterprises which are located or will be located in selected rural areas.
Excluded
The activities of the primary processing of agricultural and fishing products which are included
on the Appendix 1 of the Treaty of the European Union.
Period to Submit the Applications
Preliminary applications for 2004 are submitted from 19/04/2004.
Selected expenditure:
 Creation, expansion and upgrading of buildings
 Purchase of new or modernization of existing productive equipment
 Transfer of technology and Know-how
Public Aid
30% grant on the selected cost of the eligible investments. The maximum amount of grant
should not be higher than CYP £300.000 for the period 2004 – 2006.
The minimum investment must be CYP £10.000.
