CHAPTER 2720 - SPECIAL USES ADMINISTRATION
2722 - AGRICULTURE.
2722.15 - Livestock Area. Unless agriculture represents the best use of the land
under permit for livestock areas (special use pastures) and is compatible with other
management of the National Forest as specified in the Forest Land and Resource
Management Plan, phase out existing permits, and combine land with an existing
grazing permit or retain for use by wildlife as appropriate.
In the few instances where a livestock area permit is continued, base fees for special
use pastures on (1) a pasture rental rate or (2) in the absence of available market
rentals for comparison, 5% of land value. Establish valuation schedules for both of
these approaches for all forests.
