Artists Statement
Creating soft sculpture
using historical costume
and high fashion with
accentuated form, I work
mainly in beautiful raw
silk and mixed media.
Finally brought to life in
three-dimensional form
with a sense of
expressive movement
and delicacy taken from
my drawing, the pieces
can have very minute
detail. My work brings to
life sentimental scenes
resembling a freezeframe or still from an old
movie recreating the
essence of a given period
in history, recapturing
romance, glamour,
humour, nostalgia,
evoking strong emotions
and precious memories
or it can transport you to
a wonderful world of
vivid scenes taken from
my own dreams of
fantasy and fairytales.

Most of my work this year has been for the wedding market. I create wedding cake
top sculpture and have been very busy in this area, having made 23 commissions so
far this year. I still create sculpture for the contemporary craft market.
