French Explorer Project 13/02/2016 MAKE A POWERPOINT ABOUT A FAMOUS FRENCH EXPLORER Instructions: Groups of 2 boys Choose a famous French explorer you would like to write about La Perouse Create about 10 slides Include some pictures on your slides Do not write too much on the slides Write a speech to accompany the PowerPoint or record directly into the PP (Do not type too much on each slide). Present a 5/6 minute class PowerPoint Presentation on the subject chosen. Each group should include about 10 slides: Bring a ‘grab bag’ with a few objects the famous French person or one of his crew might have used Slide 1: Title Page - Title, Image, Names, Class, Date Slides 2 & 3: Orientation – Give a brief overview of this person’s achievements and information about his journeys and exploration. Include what is remarkable about what he did. Slides 4/7: Events - Write about the main events in this person’s life. Include details about his accomplishments or other interesting facts. What difficulties or opposition did he face? Slides 8/9: Evaluation - Your opinion of the person’s contribution to history and exploration. What impact did your explorer have on the world at the time? What have we learnt from him? Slide 10: Quiz - 4 questions to test your audience! Each boy should contribute 2 questions Include pictures and a few sentences in your own words on your slides. The rest of the background information will be spoken by you when you present your project or will be recorded into the PowerPoint. Good Luck!
