All guests who are not students at Barnegat High School must complete the attached guest purple permission slip in order to attend the senior prom. All guests are subject to the approval of the Principal. The person who purchases this bid is responsible for supplying a copy of this form to their prom date. All guests must abide by these rules and regulations and must return the form with their bid. The advisor must be notified of a change in escort or date. The same rules apply if the new guest does not attend Barnegat High School. The Senior Prom is a function sanctioned by the Board of Education. All Board of Education policies, rules and regulations will be strictly enforced. Anyone suspected of being under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol will be prohibited from attending the Senior Prom. Parents will be immediately notified for pickup. Appropriate disciplinary action will be taken. This is a non-smoking event. Seaview, does not allow smoking on their premises. Any student who is suspended the week of or the Friday before the prom will be prohibited from attending the prom. Students attending the Prom must be in school the day before the Prom unless excused by a Doctor’s or parent’s note. Check In Procedure: a. Students will check their bags and jackets into the coat check area the night of the prom. Purses/bags will be searched. Boys are not allowed to carry bags of any kind. b. Students will sign in at the check-in table. c. Students will finally undergo a final security check (Administration) Parents may NOT accompany their children into the foyer area. Students are NOT permitted to exit and return to the Senior Prom at will. ONCE A STUDENT LEAVES HE OR SHE MAY NOT RETURN. The prom hours are from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. All students are expected to leave the grounds immediately upon leaving the prom. The front doors will close at 7:30 p.m. for security purposes and no further admissions will be allowed. All guests are required to have a photo ID upon request. Administration can refuse your admission if you DO NOT show identification. NO refunds will be given if students are requested to leave the senior prom. Because the senior class must pay in advance, NO refunds will be given after bids are purchased. Any cancellation of checks will result in a school fine to cover the cost of the cancelled check. Reminder: This is a formal event. Proper attire is expected (NO sneakers, shorts, etc.). Students NOT dressed appropriately will not be admitted. Girls cannot wear dresses that have an exposed midriff. Police Officers will be present at all times. I further understand that a parental signature is required even though the student may be eighteen years of age and that guests must obtain a parental signature as well.
