Victoria, BC (November 1, 2013): The Community Arts Council of Greater Victoria (CACGV) kicks off celebrations of 45 years of service to local arts and community, since being established in 1968. The initial event is “Looking Back/Looking Forward”, a visual arts show of current members and alumni of the Community Arts Council of Greater Victoria.
The show includes works by Community Arts’ alumni and members. Included are well known and local artists, such as Pat Martin Bates, Carole Sabiston, Barbara Burns, Robert Amos, Avis Rasmussen, James
Gordaneer, alongside many local emerging artists.
An Opening Reception for the two-week show is on Thursday November 7 th at 7pm at the Arts Centre at
Cedar Hill, 3220 Cedar Hill Road in Victoria, with Sara Quist on harp, and light refreshments.
“This show is a wonderful combination of visual arts. We are delighted to host this homecoming of our long-time alumni with new, upcoming artists” said Bob Williams, CACGV President. “This is a unique exhibition not to be missed.”
The Community Arts Council of Greater Victoria is a BC registered not for profit society, and federally registered charity, with a mission to encourage and celebrate local arts and build community. Arts activities and programs for visual, written, and performance arts are delivered throughout the community, many in partnership with other organizations.
