STAGEABILITY DIPLOMA ADVANCED GRADE IV GRADE IV - - Exam Entrance Fee £15.50 inclusive of VAT (Price includes the issue of Certificate and Award Badge) This Grade takes two terms to complete and is therefore in two Parts. Student Tutor As part of the StageAbility development programme, you are now considered experienced enough to pull on your own training in being able to train others. This exam will provide us with the opportunity to assess whether you have the ability to teach others and be considered for the Student Tutor programme. The student tutor programme is being developed so that senior students can become a part of our tutoring team. Student Tutors work alongside our professional tutors experiencing the role played by tutors and long term equipping themselves with the experience needed to tutor a StageAbility Class. This provision is specifically aimed at those students who are planning to work within the arts and continue their training at Drama or dance school. Such experience will provide the student with valuable experience which can be used to secure future teaching positions, either within the StageAbility Network or elsewhere. It is an opportunity which will enable you to earn an income to support you during your drama school training and into the future when you become a full time actor or dancer. Having completed this grade successfully StageAbility will then consider you for the Student Tutor Programme which is to commencing in January 2007. PART ONE Maximum 100 points You are to write two 2 hour class plan for junior students which encompasses the StageAbility Teaching Frame. Your class plans need to assume that the class has a number of infant students attending as well as juniors, so for the first hour of each class it is a mixed age range from five to eleven years old. If you are intending to use music in your classes you must source these yourself arrange for them to be put on a CD. Any part of your class plans which require hand outs or script work must be produced as if ready for distribution to students. Your two hour class needs to incorporate at least five elements from the upper frame and at least two of the elements from the core subject. You must present your two 2 hour class plans in a 4 ring binder outlining each of the headings of your plan, giving a breakdown of the each section, why you have chosen it, what you intend doing with it, and what you hope to have taught the students by the end of it. You may, if you wish it, link the two classes together so that you can issue a very simple piece of homework which your juniors need to compete and return with for the second class. Copyright © StageAbility Diploma Advanced Grade 4 – StageAbility Limited 2006 Your classes need to be inventive and full of fun. Your own experiences will enable you to bring into your classes that games that you have loved to play over the years but your class plans will be greatly enhanced if you research Drama Games for yourself and try to find new and original stuff never seen by the school before. This will demonstrate your ability to use your own initiative as well as demonstrate your own artistic value. All StageAbility Tutors bring their own colour and style into their classes, and whilst we all follow the same basic teaching frame, each tutor offers a unique contribution to the scheme of things. Two at one school and two at another. At both schools you will put your class plan in to action, observed by the head tutor. The two schools chosen for you will offer different opportunities to demonstrate your class plans – one will be a well established school with a larger number of students than the second so that we can assess your ability to work with large as well as smaller groups.
