Guidelines
The Study Table is tutoring service that OCU offers where students can get additional help in
understanding assignments, completing assignments, and preparing for tests. The Study Table tutor
is a peer tutor that has achieved a level of success across the disciplines and therefore can offer
support in a variety of subject areas.
What students can expect from the Study Table tutors:



To be prepared for each session and treat all students with respect.
To help students understand their assignments and course content, prepare for tests, and
give suggestions of expectations about the professor who assigned it.
Study table tutors will not GIVE answers to study guides or homework assignments. Rather
they will help students find the answers using students’ notes and textbooks.
What we expect from the students who attend Study Tables:




To be respectful to the study table tutor, other students attending the study table, and
everyone in the surrounding area.
To attend study tables that are applicable to the classes they are currently taking.
To work with a tutor or a tutor-led study group the entire time they are at the study table.
The tutor WILL NOT sign off on meeting logs for student athletes or students otherwise
required to attend who did not participate fully in the tutorial.
To come with all notes, books, and materials necessary to complete current assignment or
to study for an exam.
