Grade 6 Biodiversity Project Because all living things are connected you are to select one living thing to do an oral/multimedia report on. Please ensure that your species is unique and something that we can all learn from (e.g. please don’t pick a dog or cat or other common animals). You may pick ANY living thing (including plants). You will be given class time to work on this project and you can do research at home as well. All parts of your presentation will be completed at school and not at home. You may report on this living thing in any format you wish (powerpoint, blogging, wiki, glogster etc.) Your report should include the following: Name of species (generic and scientific) Scientific classification Habitat How the species contributes to the diversity of life How do humans continue to impact the natural environment of your chosen species? Due Dates: One part of your research is due on October 6th, 2010 Two parts of your research are due on October 12th, 2010 Four parts of your research (final project) is due on October 18th, 2010 Your presentation should be 2 minutes in length explaining all of the above.
