Writing: 6.01.5 – Demonstrate an understanding of conventional written and spoken expression by using correct
form/format for essays, business letters, research papers, and bibliographies.

Instructional Strategies:
Journal Entry: “Explain why you admire a particular person.” – brainstorm; example will be provided by the
teacher. (20 min.)
Project Discussion: Put together concrete groups; assign books; discuss project (15 min.)
Writing Focus: Take notes on the 6 Traits of Writing PowerPoint. (20 min.)
