Welcome to Term 3 at Charleston Nursery. We hope you all had a restful break and are looking forward to the new term.
We have an open-door policy in the nursery.
Please feel free to come to speak a member of staff any time!
Every day we have a ‘Together time’. This encourages your child to take turns listening and talking, and to join in with games, songs and activities. During the session, your child will be engaged in free play. They are able to choose the play and learning experiences they will be involved in, indoors and outdoors.

We are still looking for any unwanted material and textiles you may have lurking in a cupboard for craft, design and play. We would also appreciate scarves, hats, waistcoats and bags you no longer use.
Thank you for all your contributions to our junk modelling box ~ please keep them coming.

Charleston Nursery uses Interactive Learning
Diaries ( ILD ) to compile and share your children’s learning and development.
We issued an ILD challenge to all parent/carers recently ~ have you managed to get a spot on the chart?
You should all have access to your child’s
Learning Diary so you can keep up to date, add to, and comment on your child’s work! If you need any help accessing ILD, please speak to Miss Delaney, who will be able to assist you.
Because your child’s learning diary is all online, we have placed a file in your child’s tray. This is where we will compile all of your child’s lovely paintings, drawings, and other evidence of their hard work.
Please check your child’s tray regularly.
Calling all parent volunteers!
Come in for a stay and play! You can share your skills, read a story, explore a language or culture. Let us know if you would like to join in.
This year we will also be setting challenges for our parents to get involved in their child’s learning at home.
Keep an eye out on the whiteboards in the cloakroom for more information.
‘ Welly Wednesday’ is a great opportunity for the children to go off-site and explore their local community and woodlands (these will start again after the February holiday).
Please provide clothing for your child to go out in all weather (warmer clothes now the temperature has dropped).
Please provide a pair of wellies that can stay at Nursery, Wednesday is not the only day we will use them.
Provide clothing that you don’t mind getting messy, or provide an apron- Some of the best learning experiences are messy ones!
Please label your child’s clothes and shoes.
Remember to return your child’s library book in their book bag by Thursday morning.
Remember to include their purple home link book too.
If your child is not usually in Nursery on
Thursday, please speak to a member of staff and we can arrange a library book for them.
Parent helpers are crucial to the success of our ‘Welly
Wednesday’ walks. We are unable to go off-site unless we have them! If you are interested in volunteering, please sign up on the sheet in Nursery or speak to a member of staff.
