Message to Parents Getting busy in Nursery (10.11.15 – 16.11.15) Dear Parents/Carers, Goldilocks and the Three Bears This week the children have thoroughly enjoyed the story of the week. They have been role playing and acting out the story with their friends. Many of the children have enjoyed using the story trays to help them re tell the story and think of different ways to end the story. We encourage you to try this story at home with any of your child’s teddies or toys- this fun activity has a lot of great speaking listening opportunities. Try watching the story on this link Goldilocks and the Three Bears | Baby Nursery Rhymes | English Rhymes | Rhymes for children: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YZ4gg8GLwA4 Welly Wednesdays The children had lots of fun on Welly Wednesday this week! They played the safety game to learn what to do if they can’t find an adult. We also looked at all the signs of Autumn and each child collected a special memory leaf to take home as they sang our new Welly Wednesday song; ‘All the leaves are falling down, falling down, falling down all the leaves are falling down it must be Autumn.’ (Sing to theme of London Bridge is falling down) Just a polite reminder, we will always be going outdoors in all weathers, in particular for our ‘Welly Wednesdays’. So, please can you ensure that your child wears an appropriate warm coat every day to Nursery now that the weather is getting much colder. Thank you! Parent Consultations I would like to take this opportunity to say a huge THANK YOU to all you parents/carers for attending your individual parent meetings! It was great to have such wonderful conversations about your children and all their progress so far and their next steps! It makes it even more of a joy to have such supportive parents and we look forward to the year ahead! Bird Drawing Competition All the children in Nursery have drawn a bird picture which we have entered into a National Bird Drawing Competition. We have our fingers and toes crossed to see if one of their amazing designs gets picked as the winner. On Monday 23 November 2015 we will hopefully find out the results and will write them up on the Nursery Information chalk board next to the entrance. The children have also thoroughly enjoyed looking for birds in the garden and on Welly Wednesday. What birds can you and your child see on the way to Nursery? Week beginning (17.11.15 – 23.11.15) Stay and Play Parents We encourage you to stay for our next Stay and Play session with Mrs. Howe. She will be teaching parents and carers the first few songs from our Christmas Nativity play with Makaton signs. We hope to see you at our Stay and Play session on Tuesday as it will really help your child to learn their Nativity songs if you can help and teach them too. Song word sheets will be handed out to parents and carers. Story of the Week ‘Lulu loves the Library’ will be our story of the week. We will be visiting our school library with Miss Buton. Each child will be able to take one book home with them! What an exciting experience and opportunity for you and your child to share their first library book at bedtimes! We appreciate in advance that you will care and look after our school books and return them to us in the same condition as they arrived at your home. Songs of the Week Over the next few weeks all our song time will be dedicated to learning our Christmas Nativity songs. The children have started to learn the words and are starting to get really excited!
