Skills and Objectives for the PowerPoint 2013 and Microsoft Word 2013 portions of the CBA IT Skills Proficiency Exam Skills and objectives for the software applications Microsoft PowerPoint 2013 and Microsoft Word 2013 are tested on the same exam where students work with PowerPoint questions before moving on to questions covering Microsoft Word. In order to receive credit for this component of the Proficiency exam where both software applications are tested, a score of 80% or higher must be achieved on the total exam (when all questions are considered). The following are presentation software skills and objectives examined on the Microsoft PowerPoint 2013 portion of the CBA IT Skills Proficiency exam. Basic Functionality in PowerPoint 2013 The student must be able to: 1. Add new slides to a presentation 2. Specify print options (number of slides per page, color vs black & white and other print options) 3. Hide and unhide slides 4. Select items 5. Add images, video and movies, and other objects to slides 6. Use drawing tools 7. Use Spell Check 8. Create textboxes and other data content placeholders 9. Create hyperlinks to other locations and/or slides Animations in PowerPoint 2013 The student must be able to: 1. Add custom animation effects (text entrance and exit) 2. Apply prebuilt slide animations 3. Group and ungroup items 4. Apply animation effects to grouped items 5. Remove animation effects Formatting in PowerPoint 2013 The student must be able to: 1. Apply prebuilt slide styles 2. Format slides using customization options 3. Change text alignment 4. Resized images and slide objects 5. Create a table for a slide 6. Change the line spacing of text on a slide. The following are word processing skills and objectives examined on the Microsoft Word 2013 portion of the CBA IT Skills Proficiency exam. Basic Functionality in Word 2013 The student must be able to: 1. Add new sentences to a document 2. Create a new blank document 3. Cut, copy and Paste text 4. Change page orientation 5. Use Spell Check and Grammar Check 6. Use the following features: Find, Find and Replace, Replace All 7. Create page breaks 8. Create headers, footers, page numbers and footnotes 9. Print specified pages 10. Undo and redo actions Formatting in Word 2013 The student must be able to: 1. Change font size, style and special font formatting 2. Use Format Painter 3. Change paragraph alignment (left, right, center, justify) 4. Change alignment of text in a word processing table 5. Create lists(bulleted, numbered, multi-level) 6. Change selected text to a list 7. Change the format of numbered and bulleted lists 8. Apply predefined quick styles 9. Change the margins of a document 10. Show and hide the formatting marks 11. Change the size of images 12. Insert tab stops (left, center, right) 13. Insert page breaks and section breaks Other Word 2013 Tasks The student must be able to: 1. Insert and delete images 2. Create and format tables 3. Insert table rows and columns 4. Sort lists 5. Sort data in a table 6. Merge table cells 7. Set up tabs and indents 8. Create hyperlinks 9. Use Track Changes, as well as accept/reject changes
