Saint Anselm All Star Mary Ann Thackrah If you have never met Mary Ann Thackrah, then, you will not be in her company for long when you will see that she is a beacon for others. Mary Ann radiates optimism, joy, faith, and compassion. Mary Ann’s concern for the well-being of people, our church, and our school is constantly translated into action. Throughout our 50th Anniversary Year, we are giving praise and thanks to God for the blessings that God has bestowed upon our Parish. God’s blessings and favors have enabled Saint Anselm Parish to continue the work of Jesus Christ. God’s blessings can be seen in people who have made this Parish be what it should be. What a blessing Mary Ann has been to Saint Anselm since 1995 when she moved into the parish with her husband, Jack. They are the proud parents of Mary Ann, Jack and Katie. Mary Ann has shared her time and musical talent by being a member of the Choir for 16 years and a Cantor for 14 years. Since 2004, she has assisted Diane Leonetti with the children’s choir. Mary Ann has fostered her love for music in her two daughters, Mary Ann and Katie who, like their Mom, share their gift and use their talent to help us sing to the glory of God. What a blessing Mary Ann is to our school. In 2005, the Home and School Hot Lunch Program was almost cancelled because no one had volunteered to coordinate the Program. She accepted the position and kept the program alive. Mary Ann has chaired the School’s Race for Education since its inception in 2008. The Race for Education has raised more than $127,985 for our school over the last four years. Mary Ann says that “there is one word to describe what it has meant to be a member of Saint Anselm Parish --- FAMILY. Saint Anselm School and Parish are full of wonderful Christian people – who CARE about making the world a better place, one step at a time.”
