Minutes Village of Orchard Park Board of Trustees The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Orchard Park was held on Monday, June 22, 2015 in the Municipal Center, 4295 South Buffalo Street, Orchard Park, New York. Mayor Clinton called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Members present: Others present: Mayor Jo Ann Litwin Clinton Dir. Of Public Works Michael P. Hartung Mayor Clinton made the following announcement: “Fire exits are located at the rear in the Board Room and at the doorway to the lobby. In the event of a fire, you will be notified by announcement on the public address system. If notified, please move in a calm and orderly fashion to the nearest exit.” Moved by Trustee Hogenkamp, seconded by Trustee Hartung that the minutes of 6/8/15 be approved as received. On the question: 4 voting “Aye” 0 voting “Nay” Carried Moved by Trustee Rood, seconded by Trustee Wales that the vouchers numbering 11907 to 11939 in Abstract #2 of 2015-2016 in the amount of $48,503.56 be paid as presented. Moved by Trustee Rood, seconded by Trustee Wales that the reports of the Treasurer for the month of April be received and filed. On the question: 4 voting “Aye” 0 voting “Nay” Carried Director of Public Works Murphy had nothing to report. Trustee Hartung had nothing to report. Trustee Wales reported that the Summer in the Park celebrations are being planned for July. Deputy Mayor Rood reported on the Safe Routes to School project, on June 16th the Village received a successful bid. Trustee Hogenkamp had nothing to report. Attorney Marshall had nothing to report. Clerk Treasurer Jensen reported that Village taxes are due July 1st to avoid penalties. Mayor Clinton reported that she had received a written complaint and the person did not include their name. She appreciates correspondence, but would request contact information so she can respond. Mayor Clinton also reported that although there has been plenty of rain lately, the Village waters our planters and hanging baskets every day with fertilizer. Moved by Trustee Hartung, seconded by Trustee Hogenkamp that a public hearing be scheduled and advertised for August 10, 2015 to hear public comment on Local Law #3, 2015 amending Chapter 96 of the Village of Orchard Park Municipal Code, “Unsafe Buildings”. On the question: 4 voting “Aye” 0 voting “Nay” Carried Moved by Trustee Wales, seconded by Trustee Rood that a covered ditch permit be authorized for Florence Kopec of 122 Highland Avenue to install 100 feet of 12 inch drainage pipe on the south side of Highland Avenue per the petition received. On the question: 4 voting “Aye” 0 voting “Nay” Carried Moved by Trustee Rood, seconded by Trustee Hartung that Director of Public Works Murphy be authorized to purchase a 24” Planer and 24” Fast Cut Drum through New York State Contract #PC66576 from Bobcat of Buffalo, at a purchase price not to exceed $15,000. The expenditure to be paid through the Reserve for Equipment Fund and is subject to a permissive referendum.
