Test Out Option for Foundations Requirements I am pleased to announce that we now have a new option available to students Provisionally Admitted to the MBA Program to complete the required Foundations. You may now complete any required Foundation by self study and obtaining an acceptable grade on a test provided in that subject area. This option is now available for all six of the subject areas currently covered by Foundations courses and/or the Undergraduate Common Body of Knowledge. This provides a third option for completing these requirements. The Test Out option is currently available with no fee or cost associated (text books may be recommended but not required). There will be no instructor available to assist students. It is completely self-study! No credit is given for this option and it will not appear in a transcript. To have access to the self-study materials and take a test, you must be a registered student at UNC Pembroke. You will be granted access to a Blackboard site (one site for each subject area) with self-study materials designed to prepare you for the test (on that subject). You may study at your own pace and take each test whenever you are ready. The tests will be proctored by the MBA Program Coordinator (on campus) or by the UNC Proctor Network. Simply notify the MBA Program Coordinator when you are ready to take the test. You may take each subject area test up to three times. If you fail to receive an acceptable score after the third attempt, you will no longer have the option of taking the test for that subject area. You may prepare for as many subject areas as you desire, simultaneously or individually. Each has its own Blackboard site. The six subject areas are Accounting, Analytical Methods, Business Statistics, Economics, Finance, and Management. If you are interested in exploring this option to complete your required Foundations, please contact the MBA Program Coordinator, Cecelia Locklear, in the MBA Office – 910.775.4099.
