Due date for Bills and Motions for September Synod
Tuesday 4 June 2013
Diocesan Synod is scheduled for 6–7 September at St Christopher’s, Avonhead. The first mail-out
to Synod members is scheduled for late June and the dates for pre-Synod meetings will be
advised once they are confirmed.

Te Kotahitanga Scholarships (St John’s College Trust Board Scholarships)
Applications need to be completed and returned to Bishop Victoria Matthews, Anglican Centre by
9.00am Tuesday, 4 June 2013.
Application packs are available now for lay and ordained people aspiring to study or take
sabbatical leave in 2014 who would like funding for costs of courses (which include a theological
or ministry study component). You are invited to request an application pack from Peter Carrell,

funding is available for courses in 2014 and not for courses in the remaining part of 2013.

being used because it is deemed to be under the 34% building code.

over time more papers will be added to this site. At present it is possible to access The
Proceedings of General Synod 1859-2006, Church and People 1954-1959, New Zealand Church
Messenger (Diocese of Nelson) 1887-1891
In addition the Catalogue of Archives that are held at the John Kinder Theological library is now
also available on line http://www.kinderlibrary.ac.nz/ark-archive-catalogue.aspx
This provides access to Anglican and Methodist nationally held material.

The photographic exhibition at Most Holy Trinity Avonside will remain in the graveyard area for a
few more months. The images pay tribute to life in Avonside through the decades. If you have any
