Attending on independent study days demonstrates your professionalism and commitment to your work. Well done. Your planning is thorough, garment construction skilful and your research wide ranging. The final garments are made to a high standard and show effective applications of macramé and pin tucking techniques. The supporting fashion illustrations show how your garment ideas have developed and apply a wide range of styles. To achieve an overall grade of merit you needed to use the research you have gathered to develop your ideas and work more coherently. You had an abundance of fashion research into current trend but it is hard to see how this has been used within your own garment construction. You also produced fashion illustrations and whilst you did have a few examples of styles to base your own work on you have not attempted to transcribe or use these to influence your style or use of media effectively. Spend more time analysing how others have made work to enable you to apply this knowledge to your own work. Your evaluations also need to contain your thoughts about how the work is developing in relation to your concept. You need to state how to improve your work, discuss what is successful and state WHY. Spending time identifying how your work is progressing will enable you to identify the weaknesses and improve the overall quality of what you produce. Making these minor amendments and refraining from describing what you have made or completed within a week will really be beneficial and help you to achieve the grade you deserve. You have been incredible ambitious, producing a two garments and illustrations. In some areas the duality concept has been overlooked and got a little confused. As you were working on so many different projects this did leave you with limited time to fully push and resolve the work to the standard that you are capable of. It has been a pleasure to see how you have grown as a designer this year. Keep up the hard work.
