DEPARTMENT OF MANAGEMENT SERVICES For Reference Only CLASS CODE: 2724 PAY GRADE: 419 CLASS TITLE: HISTORIAN - SES ALLOCATION FACTOR(S) This is work conducting original research of historical or folk cultural documentary material for specific facts relating to historic sites, museum collections, folklife studies and other kinds of research relating to Florida history. EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED: (Note: The examples of work as listed in this class specification are not necessarily descriptive of any one position in the class. Examples of work performed are not to be used for allocation purposes.) Prepares briefs for chronological accounts and records of past events. Assembles historical data by consulting sources of information, such as historical indexes and catalogs, archives, court records and miscellaneous published and unpublished materials. Organizes and evaluates data on the basis of authenticity and relative significance. Acts as advisor and consultant and performs research for the historic preservation boards in the Department of State. Researches historical documentary materials. Performs related work as required.
