Gosford City Council Protection of the Environment Trust Project Funding Procedure and Application Form Purpose of the Trust The Gosford City Council Protection of the Environment Trust was set up by Council to encourage and facilitate benevolent acts by community members for the benefit of the environment. The Trusts function is to also manage and acknowledge donations received. Trust Objectives a) To promote the protection and enhancement of the natural environment or of a significant aspect of the natural environment and in particular the conservation of flora and fauna indigenous to the Local Government area of Gosford City; and b) For the provision of information or education or the carrying on of research about the natural environment or a significant aspect of the natural environment in particular relating to flora and fauna of the area for the benefit of persons within the Local Government area of the City of Gosford. Purpose of the Committee The Council is Trustee of the Trust and has appointed a management committee to recommend to the Trustee (the Council) how the Trustee should deal with Trust assets. The committee recommends to the Trustee (the Council) on the acceptance of gifts of cash, property and real property. The committee recommends to the Trustee (the Council) on the distribution of cash and disposal of property and real property. The committee may recommend to the Trustee other things, as provided in the Trust deed. In undertaking the Committee’s duties, include sustainable climate change adaptation and mitigation actions as a response to climate change. In the implementation of this duty ensure consistency with Council’s Climate Change Policy. The Committee meets three (3) times per year or as required. On 27 November 2012 Council resolved; 'the amounts to be expended on projects be limited to the interest accrued, or likely to be accrued, over the financial year in question'.
