Postdoctoral Researcher in Ocean Wave Spectra School of Physics Ref. No. NUIG 98-14 Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for a full-time, fixed term position as a postdoctoral researcher in ocean wave spectra with School of Physics at the National University of Ireland, Galway. This position is funded by Enterprise Ireland and is available from 01/01/2015 to contract end date of 31/12/2016. The position involves analysis using matlab on ocean surface wave data. The tasks will involve writing scripts to process the data so that standard wave parameters can be extracted from the ocean wave spectra. Job Description: The successful candidate will analyse observational data of elevation and motion data to calculate the ocean wave spectra. This will involve extensive matlab experience in spectral analysis and knowledge of motion correction algorithms. Qualifications: The candidate should have a PhD in a subject closely related to air-sea fluxes. Knowledge of matlab and spectral analysis is essential. Candidates should have excellent communication and organisational skills; be highly motivated and passionate about developing new products; and have strong documentation, oral and interpersonal skills.
