Researcher – Clinical Research Data Manager HRB Clinical Research Facility Ref. No. NUIG 83-14 Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for a full-time, fixed term position as a Researcher – Clinical Research Data Manager with the HRB Clinical Research Facility at the National University of Ireland, Galway. www.crfg.ie. This position is funded by Health Research Board HRB and the contract duration is for 1 year. The CRFG provides an integrated Data Management service. This means seamless clinical data capture, validation, monitoring, storage, processing and archiving powered by the latest clinical research management technology. Job Description: The Data Manager supports the Research Biometric Service provided for investigator led trials/studies or commercial led clinical trials. The Data Manager provides management and co-ordination of clinical research data for individual trials. The role involves data collection, review and discrepancy management to ensure data quality and consistency. The post holder will identify errors and inconsistencies in CRF data and ensure their resolution in order that databases can be declared clean and locked according to ICH GCP standards. Clinical research data analysis is changing rapidly and the CRFG has a responsibility to share this information so there will be a requirement to develop and present new techniques at relevant conferences. It is expected that the post holder will achieve at least 1 publication. The postholder will be working on the data management research study “Improving the efficiency of data management process by integrating electronic databases containing laboratory and procedural results”. Essential requirements University degree in the Life Sciences or equivalent professional qualification and a minimum of 2 years relevant work experience in a clinical research data management related role. OR A minimum of 4 year’s relevant work experience in a clinical research data management related role. Knowledge of clinical research, associated processes and regulations Experience that demonstrates strong attention to detail Ability to effectively apply knowledge and skills in a highly organized fashion with adherence to regulatory guidelines, SOPs and client expectations. A good understanding of medical terminology, clinical trial methodology and ICH/GCP Ability to work in a team environment and independently as required Strong communication skills Ability to demonstrate practical use of information technology systems, in particular usage of eCRF development system Effective organizational skills and detail orientated. Desirable requirements Experience of working in clinical trials Knowledge of medical terminology Project management experience Good Clinical Practice training Clinical/Biomedical qualification Salary: €37,750 – €53,245 per annum (public sector pay policy pertaining to new entrants will apply).
