Area of Accountability Business Impact Know How Innovation Leadership & Teamwork Accountabilities Responsible for the timely removal and decontamination of clinical waste from the laboratory suites ensuring a compliant working environment. To prepare and maintain disinfectant concentration appropriate for use. To collect and clean used laboratory glassware ensuring the reliability of the quality of glassware to be used by scientists. Helping other laboratory based groups with cleaning and preparing their equipment to achieve work timelines. Assist with checking levels of compressed gases that serve critical equipment. Replacing cylinders in a timely manner to ensure continuance of gas supply to critical equipment. Good knowledge of the needs of different OXB groups who utilise the laboratory Experience in working in laboratory environment. Experience in GLP and GMP an advantage. Good understanding of OXB laboratory protocols and SOPs To actively work alongside laboratory personnel ensuring the support they need is met on a day-to-day basis; allowing scientists work projects to be completed within their designated timelines. Proactively ensure the laboratories are kept clean and tidy to aid the fulfilment of good Quality and H&S audit responses. To show by example a good work ethic in the day to day running of the laboratories. Listen, act and respond appropriately to the requirements requested from different groups. solutions to the correct Area of Accountability Communication & Influence Accountabilities In the event of equipment failure or out of specification alerts i.e. fridges, freezers and autoclaves this must be communicated promptly to the owner of the equipment and the laboratory supervisor to ensure a quick response for repairs to be carried out by external engineers . Must be articulate in communication, written and verbal….why? for what purpose Required Education & Knowledge Level of education, minimum of GCSE grade C in English and Mathematics or equivalent level of experience gained within a similar work place and position. Required Skills, Experience & Personal Attributes Experience gained at least two years working in a laboratory environment. Knowledge of rules and regulations for working in a laboratory environment. Demonstrated ability to follow instructions i.e. standard operating procedures and/or protocols. Experience working in Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Experience and knowledge of working to Health and Safety guidelines within laboratories and the work place.
