Attention mid-year graduates: If you are on track to graduate this January, please stop by
Student Services. The counseling staff needs to verify important information with you.
Seniors - you know it is college application time! Deadlines are approaching! If your
colleges have application deadlines between Dec.31-Jan. 15, get those transcript requests in
NOW. Remember: no transcripts will be sent during the winter break. Allow two weeks for
processing.
Tutors from the National Honor Society will be available for academic tutoring, homework
help, or test preparation in the media center during SMART Lunch.
Attention Junior girls: Start thinking about your next steps, in high school and beyond.
Meredith College is hosting a Leadership Conference on January 30 for 11th grade girls
who aspire to assume leadership positions in their senior year.
Cary High’s Young Republicans Club meets every other Tuesday in Mr. Page’s room – 406
during SMART Lunch to discuss current issues our nation is facing. See Sam LaCroix or
Zach Hunter if you have questions.
Attention all FCA members: Today will be our last large huddle before Christmas - come
dressed in your favorite holiday apparel and bring your Christmas cheer! Remember
Monday is also the last day to order your t-shirt. Please bring $15 to Mrs. Beeler's room

ATTENTION JUNIORS & SENIORS: A representative from Wake Tech Community
College will be here on Wednesday, December 16th during SMART lunch in Media Center
to conduct on-site admissions and register students for placement tests. The representative
will also answer questions about the application process and college transfer programs at
Wake Tech. Please plan to attend if you have applied to Wake Tech or considering Wake
Tech.

The History Club is revived and ready to go in 2016! We will meet on Dec. 15 after school
in Room 403. We will have food and entertainment to celebrate the holiday season! Come
and bring a friend! See Mrs. Hayes if you have questions.
The men's basketball team raised its record to 8 - 0 overall and 4 - 0 in the SWAC with a 74
- 22 win over Apex Friendship Friday night. All 14 players scored in the victory, paced by
Donte Tatum's 16 points. Tomorrow night, the Imps play their last home game until after
the New Year by hosting Athens Drive. The theme is Christmas, so make plans to come out
to the Imp Dome tomorrow night to support your undefeated men's basketball team.
Ambassadors meeting scheduled for this week has been cancelled. Enjoy the holidays. See
you next year.

Several JV wrestlers won all of their matches Friday at the Wake Forest JV
tournament!! Uriel Orelleno, Xaiver Rogers, Kameron Gillespie, Cal Garvey, and Shane
Conley were among the undefeated!!
Congrats to the varsity wrestlers who won the Lumberton Duals Saturday in convincing
fashion winning all five of their duals. Among the varsity undefeated were: Delvonte
Robinson, Kollin Wade, Nate Kinsey, Troy Madden, Nick Straight, Erique Zuniga, Joe
Grena, and Rod Perry.
Good luck to all the wrestlers at Friendship Apex Wednesday and in the Mark Adams
Holiday tournament to be held here at Cary Friday and Saturday!
21 students from the speech and debate team competed this past Saturday at Northwest
Guilford High School in Greensboro and won 3rd place overall in small team
sweeps. Congratulations to Marley Peterson and Olivia Schreiner, who placed 2nd in
varsity public forum debate; to Kyle Morgenstein, who placed 3rd in varsity LincolnDouglas debate; to Serena Shahidi, who placed 4th in a program of oral interpretation; to
Anja de Waal and AJ Moore, who placed fifth in varsity public forum debate; to
Mubashshir Khan and Ivan Lin, who placed 7th in novice public forum debate; and to
Maggie McCray, who placed 10th in original oratory. We are proud of all who
participated. Anyone interested in joining the team should see Mr. Jessee in room
1013. All are welcome.
Make dinner a selfless act by joining us for a fundraiser to support Cary High School
PTSA. Come in to the Chipotle at 100 Wrenn Dr. in Cary on Wednesday, December 16th
between 4:00pm and 8:00pm. Bring in a flyers, show a flyer on your smartphone or tell
the cashier you're supporting the cause to make sure that 50% of the proceeds will be
donated to Cary High School PTSA. See you at Chipotle!
The JV Lady Imps came from behind last Friday evening to defeat the Lady Patriots of
Apex Friendship 44-41. The team struggled early against the Patriots full court press but
slowly started to pick it apart in the second half. Strong defense and rebounding down the
stretch helped the Imps preserve the victory. The team improves to 4 wins and 4 losses
overall. Next up the team travels to Athens Drive to face the Lady Jaguars on
Tuesday. Tip-off is at 5:30. Thanks to everyone who came out to support the team!"
"The Varsity Lady Imps got their first win, first conference win, and first road win last
Friday defeating the Lady Patriots of Apex Friendship 47-38. The Imps jumped out to an
26-16 halftime score before the Lady Patriots made a run in the third quarter to close the
score to 31-28. The Imps kept their composure and lengthened their offensive possessions
to use more time down the stretch to secure the victory. Ariana Smith led all scorers with
17 points, 6 rebounds, & 2 steals while Adrienne Moore kept the Patriots off the glass with
14 rebounds. Megan Cannady's 11 points, 3 rebounds, & 5 steals combined with Lauren
Fisher's 9 points, 7 rebounds, & 5 steals helped pace the Imps. All 3 reserves contributed
big minutes to make it a total team win. The victory improves the team to 1 and 7 overall
and 1 and 4 in league play. The team travels to Raleigh on Tuesday to take on the Lady
Jaguars of Athens Drive. Tipoff is at 7:00. Thanks to everyone for supporting our girls!
