Your undefeated men's basketball team raised its overall record to 6 - 0 and conference record to 2 - 0 with a big win at Apex on Friday night, 63-51. The Imps were led by "Fire," Donte Tatum, 20 points & 7 rebounds; "Ice," Cory Gensler, 18 points, 12 rebounds, 4 blocks; Jay Hicks, 11 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists; Darrion Burnett, 6 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists; Kyle Gensler, 6 points, 3 assists. It was a total team effort and great win for the Imps!The men's teams travel to Middle Creek on WEDNESDAY for another big conference game. Make plans now to head over to Middle Creek to support your undefeated men's basketball team! The JV Lady Imps improved their overall record to 3-3 with an IMPressive victory over the Lady Cougars of Apex 32-22 last Friday. The Imps led from the opening tip to the final whistle. The team improves to 1-1 in conference play and returns to action this Wednesday at home against the Lady Mustangs of Middle Creek. Tip off is at 5:30 pm." "The Varsity Lady Imps fought hard and competed fiercely against the Lady Cougars of Apex but fell 63-53 last Friday. Adrienne Moore paced the team with 8 points, 17 rebounds, 6 blocks, & 3 assists. The Imps had 3 players in double figures led by Megan Cannady and Lauren Fisher each with 14 points and Ariana Smith chipped in with 10 points. Anna Padiak earned top reserve honors with 2 points and 6 rebounds to help the team. The Imps fall to 0-6 overall and 0-2 in conference play. The team hosts the Lady Mustangs of Middle Creek this Wednesday at 7:00 pm. Thanks to everyone who came out to support the team! The Cary High NJROTC competed against eleven teams in Myrtle Beach on Saturday. The team took 1st place in the 8x200 relay and a third place overall in Athletic events. They also brought home a 2nd place trophy in Academics and a 3rd place for unarmed exhibition drill. For the Overall competition, the Cary unit finished in 4th place and they qualified to advance to the Area Six championship meet in February. Cary's wrestlers finished in 3rd place with several guys having a good showing. Finishing on a high note in the final round were Dylan Aubry wrestling very tough in the finals and three Champions in Rod, Alex Zuniga and Kollin Wade. Also winnng their last matches were: Nate Kinsey and Joe Grena while Ethan Mendel placed fourth. Congrats wrestlers!! The Speech and Debate Team competed this past Saturday at Massey Hill Classical High School in Fayetteville and came in 2nd overall. Congratulations to Kyle Morgenstein, Ellie Warren, Emily Stuelke, Noah Jabusch, and Michael Quint, who all earned a perfect winning record in Lincoln-Douglas debate. Congratulations also to Serena Shahidi, who placed first in a program of oral interpretation; to Marley Peterson and Olivia Schreiner, who placed second in varsity public forum debate; to Calvin Mou and Lam Ngo, who placed second in novice public forum debate; and to Oluchi Okafor, who placed fourth in the interpretation of prose and poetry. We are proud of all who participated. Anyone interested in joining the team should see Mr. Jessee in room 1013. All are welcome.
