Earthquake Research Questions
Directions: You will be researching an earthquake that has taken place since 1900.
Your earthquake can have happened anywhere in the world! Be sure to answer
these questions in COMPLETE sentences and be prepared to share your findings
with your classmates.
1. What date did the earthquake take place?
2. Where did the earthquake take place? Include the country and the
coordinates of the quake.
3. Along which plate boundary/fault line did the earthquake occur?
4. What was the magnitude of the earthquake?
5. Did the earthquake have any side effects (ie. Tsunami, volcanic eruption,
aftershocks etc.)
6. Citation. It is important to provide the proper credit to websites we use for
information. Please include a citation for the sites you used to gather this
information.
