Dr. Shannon Reynolds Miles: Shannon Reynolds Miles is a postdoctoral fellow at the South Central Mental Illness Research, Education, and Clinical Center at the Michael E. DeBakey Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Houston, Texas. She received her bachelor’s degree from Auburn University in 2006 and was introduced to psychiatric classification by Roger Blashfield. She earned her Ph.D. from the University of Tulsa in 2013 working with Al Harkness and John McNulty on personality and adaptive systems research. Her current research interests are personality, emotions, and psychiatric classification. She is investigating how emotion regulation relates to posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and aggression, and how increasing emotion regulation can improve PTSD treatment outcomes in veteran samples. She will complete her fellowship in the summer of 2015.
