Conservation Laboratory Technician
Reporting to Research Scientist
Role Purpose
To undertake laboratory DNA analysis, as well as helping with the day to day running of the WildGenes laboratory
facility, part of the RZSS Conservation department. As a member of Conservation department, the post will contribute
to the development of the Society in achieving its Mission and Aims.

Core Responsibilities

To assist the senior technician with the organisation and running of the WildGenes laboratory to support the
implementation of projects.

To undertake DNA extraction, amplification, analysis and archiving of samples, as required.

To assist with maintenance of a hygienic and organised laboratory following RZSS policies and procedures to
meet or exceed agreed standards.

Ensure compliance with RZSS’s policies, procedures and guidelines, together with all relevant regulatory and
statutory requirements (e.g. H&S; Child Welfare)

Perform other reasonable duties and projects as directed by your manager

Demonstrate commitment to your continuous personal development
