4.1 President- None
4.2 Treasurer- account balance: Unavailable
4.3 Public RelationsRecord Searchlight published article in the Family section of their October 9th,
Sunday paper; co-editor of the Lance contacted Cherry about the article for the Lance and
it should be run in the next available issue; News to Muse article also went in and is
awaiting approval.
4.4 Leadership Development CommitteeMembers unsure of who was on committee, but regardless, no report.
4.5 SCSS Music Series-
Selling snow cones has gone well both at this and the football games. Comments
from all officers present.
5. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
5.1 Approve Beta Mu Mu's regular meeting minutes held on October 7th, 2011. – Minutes
unavailable.
6. CONSENT / ACTION AGENDA - None
7. DISCUSSION / ACTION AGENDA
7.1 Officer BindersCannot do much without website up, Brenda has contacted the help for the national website and
is awaiting reply so she can log in, Cherry is able to log in but unable to find the officer duties
anywhere, Xochilt doesn’t know whether or not she can log in.
7.2 Leadership Development Program –
Nothing has been done as of yet. We need to get back with Mr. Ron Marley as soon as possible
though. Officers agreed to read packet that Mr. Marley had provided us and be ready to discuss
next meeting.
7.3 General Meeting (October 27th, 2011 3 pm Student Center Stage) –
Discussed activities. Cherry brought up that Roxanne had suggested we do not have the meeting
catered but have an informational meeting. Dr. Whitmore explained that informational general
meetings were an opportunity for the chapter officers to communicate what’s going on to the
members and suggested having popcorn as a simple snack. He also mentioned the issue with
getting an updated invitee list so that we are able to garner more participation. Officers with
advisor talked about the possibility of explaining scholarships that are available and applying for
them, and/or service opportunities that can be put on a resume. Talked about getting a speaker,
Cherry will email the lady from the financial aid office who spoke to TRIO students about Shasta
College scholarships to see if she can do something similar at the general meeting. If she cannot
make it, Xochilt said she would be willing to speak about scholarships, and Dr. Whitmore said
that he’d be willing to talk about the process of transferring to 4-year universities. Other
suggested speakers included Jeanette Velasquez from the TRIO office and Leanne Williams
from the Career and Transfer Center. Dr. Whitmore also suggested that an announcement go out
in News to Muse at least about the general meeting. Cherry stated that the article placed for
approval to News to Muse included that information.

9.2 COMMENTS FROM ADVISOR9.2a Dr. Whitmore stated that he got an email regarding an invoice for snow cone syrup
and we need to have this on agenda for next meeting because we need to have minutes approved
to allow the appropriate money to be appropriated for that purpose.
