What time is New Employee Orientation?

New Employee Orientation will start at 7:45am and will end at approximately
4:00pm. Please expect to be present during these hours on your first day at

How do I know if I need to attend Clinical Orientation?



Clinical Orientation is an additional requirement for all employees who will be
working directly with patients. For those employees, Clinical Orientation
will start on their second day.
Non-clinical employees should contact their department manager to find out
when and where to report to work starting their second day.
If you're unsure whether you need to attend Clinical Orientation please feel free
to contact your Recruiter, Hiring Manager or Clinical Education at 206-320-2711.
You will receive your actual schedule on the first day of New Employee
Orientation.
How to get paid for New Employee Orientation:


If you are an hourly employee, please print out the timesheet and bring it with
you to New Employee Orientation. You will use this form to enter the time
you begin Orientation and when you leave. To ensure you get paid, bring
your timesheet to your manager Friday.
Paydays are every other Friday and pay cycle end dates are Saturday. See the pay

Will lunch be provided at New Employee Orientation?

You will be given plenty of time to eat lunch, however lunch will not be provided.
There are several options for purchasing lunch, as well as public areas where you
may eat a sack lunch you have brought from home. Refrigerators are not available
during New Employee Orientation, but the cafeteria does have microwaves
available for your use.
What do I need to wear to New Employee Orientation?

The dress code for both New Employee and Clinical Orientation sessions is
Professional/Casual (no jeans or open-toed shoes). Please also be respectful
of others in your application of personal fragrances, many individuals experience
a chemical sensitivity and you may be asked to remove the fragrance.
How do I get to New Employee Orientation?

Orientation is held in the Swedish Education & Conference Center at the Swedish
Medical Center/Cherry Hill Campus at the following address:
500 17th Ave., Seattle, WA 98124-1008.
The Swedish Education & Conference Center is located on the first floor of the James
Tower (map & directions). An information desk is located in the main lobby.
We encourage you to utilize the Metro transportation system to attend orientation, as
parking is limited and expensive.

Driving and Parking
If you choose to drive you can park in the Cherry Hill garage located on 16th Avenue
between Jefferson and Cherry Streets, the price is about $15 per day. Please do not park
in the short term patient parking lot underneath the front entrance off of Jefferson
Street.
You can also park in the Broadway Garage at the First Hill Campus at 747 Broadway, the
price is about $15 per day. You will then be able to take a shuttle from the First Hill
Campus to the Cherry Hill Campus. The shuttle leaves the First Hill main entrance at
7am which will get you to New Employee Orientation on time.
What documents do I need to bring to New Employee Orientation?


Immunization records (for Employee Health). Please bring any health records
about your last Tuberculin Skin Test (TST), any dates or history of Hepatitis B,
Hepatitis A, MMRs or measles, mumps, rubella, Chickenpox vaccines and tetanus
(Tdap).
We will need you to provide I-9 documentation at Orientation. The
documentation will need to meet the following requirements:
1) To prove your eligibility to work in the USA
2) To prove your identity
