Friendly Parent Reminders - Westhill School District

Friendly Parent Reminders . . . . .
Just a few parent reminders as we begin the new school year - - we’d like to remind you
that children are not permitted to enter the school building before 8:55 A.M. unless
accompanied by an adult who can stay to supervise. Please do not leave your child
unattended in the lobby or main office of our school. This is extremely important to
ensure the safety of the children. If you need before or after school day care, please call
BASCOL @ 622-4885. Thank you.
Parent’s wishing to have their child visit another child’s home after school must make
arrangements to either pick the child up at school or at his/her drop off location. As per
Transportation Department policy, bus passes will not be issued for this reason.
If your child regularly gets picked up on a certain day and an early dismissal (i.e.
Parent/Teacher conferences, etc. .) falls on that day, we assume that your child will be
picked up. If alternate transportation plans need to be made, please send a note to the
Cherry Road School Main Office with your child.
If your child is sick, will be late for school, or not attending school for any reason,
PLEASE don’t forget to notify Ms. Demski or Mrs. Gehan in the Cherry Road School
Main Office at 426-3300 by 9:00 A.M. Also, if your child has a mourning appointment,
please let us know in advance so we may document our daily attendance database
accordingly. The office phone number is accessible 24 hours a day/7 days a week and
gives you the option of leaving a voice mail which we encourage you to do if it is before
or after school hours.
We welcome you to our school; however, all parents, volunteers, and visitors must sign
in at the Cherry Road Main Office through our Raptorware security system (please have
your driver’s license with you) and have the classroom teacher’s permission BEFORE
accessing any part of the school building. NO EXCEPTIONS! The safety of our
students and staff is our first priority!
Please label all of your children’s belongings and check the Lost and Found often for
missing items. The Cherry Road School Lost and Found is located on the back wall of
the gymnasium, behind the bleachers.
Teacher Calls: All Cherry Road teachers have voice mail. To keep classroom
disruptions to a minimum, all messages will go directly to their voice mail during school
hours. The teacher will return your call at a time when the children are at lunch, a
special, or after school. If you need immediate assistance, please leave a message with
the Main Office.
