MOODLE: IB/AP Spanish – Espinosa; enrollment key = Spanish There are weekly assignments for the 4 wks of July & the last week of August. You will be required to comment on the discussion board & post at least one discussion over the 5 weeks. You may complete them one at a time (preferred) or all at once. You will have until Sept. to complete all 5 tasks. You will be required to blog via Moodle about your novel & your summer work. LISTEN TO A VARIETY OF DIALECTS ALL SUMMER! – the AP Exam uses sources from España, Argentina, Venezuela, etc ... – LOG EACH DIALECT AS YOU GO & MAKE NOTES ABOUT WHAT YOU HEAR 3. LEER UNA NOVELA completa por un autor hispanohablante (no traducción): EVERY STUDENT is REQUIRED to read a Spanish-language novel of their choice Prepare & present sent a mini-project on their novel during 1st semester. The original novel must have been written by a native Spanish speaker – it may NOT be a translation. You must read the novel over the summer. Read just to read – do NOT worry about understanding every word, just absorb how the language flows and get the main ideas. Do not over translate. Take brief notes on characters, vocab you learn & anything you find interesting. POST TO MOODLE! There is a glossary on Moodle – as soon as you decide what you want to read, post it! Escribir, Escribrir, Escribir: Leer y Escribir / Escuchar y Escribir / Leer y Escuchar y Escribir the IB & AP Exams require you to use native text (audio and written) as sources for topics for both presentational writing and presentational speaking sections. There are also reading and (AP : listening comprehension) sections. The more you read/listen and then write about what you’ve read and listened to, the easier these tasks will be. Add your favorite artists/actors to your facebook/twitter feed; change your homepage to a Spanish google/yahoo/aol; do everything you can to get AUTHENTIC language into your consciousness on a DAILY basis! Oral Presentation All 1st Semester we will be compiling cultural images that we can use to compare and contrast the Hispanic culture with other cultures around the world. You can start saving/printing images you see while you’re online this summer. Use google docs (CREATE a folder for AP/IB SPANISH) or diggo to organize 5. ACTIVIDADES DE INTERNET: Do some review drill using any of the following sites or any others that you find. GRAMÁTICA: WWW.CONJUGUEMOS.COM – systematically go through every VERB and do some of the GRAMATICA that you need/want practice the SPELLING of every tense – www.wordreference.com is a fabulous resource and there are books of 201/501 Verbs that you may find helpful. We will be reviewing the USAGE of every tense, but it will be your responsibility to find resources in our books/online/from old notes, etc to learn the how to spell everything. Organize & recopy your notes from Levels 1-4/5. Use verb charts (Moodle). VOCABULARIO: organize and/or review all of your vocabulary notes/lists from Realidades (see links below) and as you learn new words from your reading, keep a personal glossary. Make flashcards, use a steno or designated composition notebook, create a mini-vocab notebook – come to class on the first day w/ your old & new (summer) vocab organized in a way that works for you. IB 5 weekly assignments x 10 wks: 1. COMUNICAR VIA MOODLE: a. Complete the 5 weekly assignments that every student will be required to complete. b. You must browse the internet for interesting articles/short stories / news videos /images. b.Print or save links or images – your IA oral will be to verbally describe an image I chose c. ORGANIZAR: You should keep a binder w/ all articles & pictures you’ve accessed. 4. IB: ESCRIBIR: Keep a composition notebook w/ 1 running log & journal a. You must keep a weekly log / journal of everything you’ve read i.
