www.cevt.se Master Thesis Project at CEVT Title: Artificial Sound on Electrical Vehicle CEVT China-Euro Vehicle Technology CEVT is a joint engineering and development center for future B- and Csegment cars, addressing the needs of both Volvo Cars and Geely Auto. Background The Propulsion unit is part of CEVT is responsible for the development of new transmissions for Geely Group as well as development of Hybrid and Electric Propulsion systems including all high voltage components Today’s PHEV: s and EV: s makes less sound then traditional engine based cars. No engine sound do create issues for pedestrian due to it is difficult to hear the vehicle when it approaches. That’s why it is important to create and artificial engine sound to improve the detection of the car when it is driving on the road especially in lower speed Scope The objective of this thesis project is to develop conditions for artificial sound in electrical vehicles and to optimize the signals for maximum pedestrian and cyclist safety with minimal environmental noise and annoyance Thesis overview Literature study Goals/milestone definition Development Documentation: document the results in a thesis report and make a final presentation. Prerequisites Car enthusiast, interested to further work in the automotive industry Interested in hybrid technology is preferred The duration of the thesis work is 20 weeks and the work will be carried out at CEVT headquarters in Lindholmen. Suitable Student Background Master’s student in automotive engineering/applied mechanics/applied physic. Please apply with CV and cover letter.
