Senior Project Introduction and Topic Sentences
1. From your 3 column notes, find 8 topics that support your thesis.
2. Write one sentence for each of those topics. Include in the sentence: the topic and why/how it
supports your thesis.
Examples:
Teen behavior is now reliant on video games.
School performance is a main area of teen lives that is negatively affected by video games.
Gender plays a major role in video game addictions.
Video game addicts exhibit pathological behaviors.
Introduction paragraph
Should include:




Opening sentence that catches the reader’s attention.
Filler/connector sentences that bridge from the opening sentence to the thesis sentence.
Thesis sentence that tells your topic and your opinion.
Forecast sentences that indicates some of the topics you will include in your essay.
